My Apple mouse is very hungry!

So hungry in fact that it eats a pair of AA batteries just about every week! The older dongle/usb logitech mouse I had lasted about a year on 1 AA battery. This new bluetooth mouse eats batteries left and right, I estimate about $144 a year! $5.99 for a 4 pack of fresh Duracell batteries. That's one pack every 2 weeks! Is anyone else having this issue? I don't know how much longer I can afford to feed my mouse as it's a very pesky hungry little bugger. FYI my little hungry mouse came with a new iMac 27" That I bought in late January. I think it may be much less expensive to just run back to Walmart and pick up a new USB based mouse. $17 Thoughts?
