Hi I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Yosemite, and initially Word opened when not asked. Suddenly I can't open word or Excel. Help appreciated, Tony

Hi I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Yosemite, and initially Word opened when not asked on start-up. No problem, I just cancelled it. Suddenly I can't open word or Excel. Help appreciated, Tony
