Is there a way to remove unwanted background in footage that has not been green screen/white screen? The client interviewed talent in hallways, lobbies and finds the location distracting.

He will probably find the bill for many, many hours or even weeks of work you will have to put in to get this done and done right, even more distracting.

What about some sort of vignette or blurring around the head to reduce the impact of the background?
It won't get rid of the background but it will (hopefully) reduce its impact.
