Unexpected error code -1401

Hi Folks

On my aged iMac still running Snow Leopard, the following error messages were suddenly popped up after that spinning colour wheel was shown on Finder for ages. This happened when I was waking up the Mac.

User uploaded file

I don't know which message was popped out first and I could see both on screen.

So far I only saw the messages once, after clicking the OK buttons and letting them go.

Can I know what Error -1401 is? Is it a serious issue?

Kind regards,

Bing

Have a look at "Less common Mac OS X error messages" towards the bottom of > http://www.macworld/mac-software/common-mac-error-messages

Thanks for the prompt reply and the good links for reference.

Regarding the five steps given under "Less common Mac OS X error messages", I have actually already tried all of them though some of them (Step 2 and 4) were not applicable. The Google research does show some users reported the exact same issue in some forums, but most comments and suggestions seem not that helpful.

However, the following link addresses the issue directly. It says the error occurs "because the Mac operating system cannot find the file", but I have no idea what file it was on my iMac. As I mentioned above, what I did was just waking up the machine.
