Create a new project with custom settings. Choose an interlaced format. Go back to your original project and copy it. Paste it to the new project timeline.
Or if you have an interlaced clip, use that clip to set your project properties automatically.

Select the timeline in the project window. On the right side of your screen, select the "info" tab. In that tab, select "modify settings". A window will pop up that will let you change framerate, format, size, and a bunch of other things.

Sorry, but that won't work. You can change resolution with Modify Settings, but not frame rate and fields.

Russ, I just did it to verify. Works fine. Selecting a 1080p timeline, following the steps above, changing to a 1080i timeline automatically changes the frame rate to the corresponding interlaced rate.
You're quite right.
Thanks.
Russ
This was cool, guys, I had never noticed Modify Settings before. So, once you change the format from 1080p to 1080i, you can change the frame rate.
There's a related thread that I commented on, maybe you two could check my suggestion. OP sot 180p but needs 1080i for release. I'm suggesting he continue to edit in 1080P and only change his media on output. Otherwise he has to transcode all of his media from P to i, yes?
