What if my iPhone 6 gets water damage inside a LifeProof case?

I just purchased a new iPhone 6 and immediately also purchased a Lifeproof Nuud case for it from LifeProof direct. I was on there website and noticed they offered total water protection which will repair/replace your phone for one year if it gets water damage while inside the case. It said you needed the registration number that came inside the case. I could not locate mine and called LifeProof. You only have 14 days to register your case and device from the time of your purchase. I spoke with a female who advised me that protection is only available if you get your case through Verizon. She told me this warranty was made available to all carriers however Verizon was the only one who took advantage of it. I said to her, "You mean I buy a WATERPROOF case from LIFEPROOF DIRECTLY but they don't offer the total water protection program for my device"? She politely told me not at this time. WOW!!!!

I have no complaints on the case itself but I am trying to prepare for the worst case scenario and protect my new phone in any way possible. It just seems silly to offer a WATERPROOF case and then not offer a WATER PROTECTION PLAN FOR THE DEVICE INSIDE unless you buy from Verizon. I understand the other companies choosing not to take advantage of it but I bought it directly from the manufacturer of the case.

Not so sure I would have purchased the case had I known that beforehand but I guess that's on me.😕

I purchased a $90 Lifeproof Fre case in May for my IPhone 6S- did all the water testing before, made sure the case was "waterproof". I wasn't even looking to submerge my phone, only protect it when I work out as I am a heavy sweater. 10 months later, my IPhone spontaneously shuts off. When I opened up the case there was all sorts of moisture inside- who knows how long it had been getting sweat trapped inside.

I called Lifeproof to see how they would handle the fact that their waterproof product was not at all waterproof. I got transferred to a manager, who informed me that Lifeproof does not guarantee that their cases are waterproof- only that they have passed the industry standards on "waterproofing". To me this is like saying our food has passed FDA guidelines- this can mean nothing in terms of quality. He offered to get me a new case, which I refused- why would I use a case that does not work and is not backed by it's company?

I'm disappointed in the case (which I had previously raved about) and also in the company for failing to rectify the issue that I now have no phone secondary to failure of the case.

Has anyone had luck with getting Lifeproof to cover phone repairs? Thanks.

doubt anybody ever would

of cause apple would not as given warranty for another product would be insane

and if lifeproof did they would likely have people attempting to get replacement from defect phones by compromising the case, and if the burden of proof were on lifeproof they would have to take a pretty extreme price on their cases to make a profit with that burden on them
