Ipod touch screen is black but can hear Siri.

My daughter had gotten her Ipod Touch 5th Gen wet. We quickly dried it and shook out excess water. We were leaving for vacation so we put it in rice for over a week. When we returned, she charged it & then tried to turn it on. We can hear Siri say, "Siri not available. Please connect to the internet." however, the screen is black. We attempted a reboot and the apple logo flashes on quickly, then nothing. I need help. She is absolutely heartbroken. If I had the money, I'd buy her a new one but, I don't. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Try:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
