Q: Do I need to cancel my free trial to join a family plan?

I signed up for a free trial and then got an email today from my parents inviting me to join their family subscription. I clicked the join link in my email, but when I go to the Manage Subscriptions page it only shows my free membership. Do I need to cancel my free trial to actually join this family plan, or will it automatically enroll me in the family plan once my free trial has ended?
