Q: windows 8.1 usb port not working

Running a early 2015 MBP

Installed a boot camp windows 8.1 (fully updated).

The USB ports were working fine initially, suddenly and without any apparent cause/event they stopped.

By stopped working I mean the power was no longer being delivered to the USB mouse that was attached. When unplugged/replugged the power connects for approx one second and then turns off. Mouse does not work.

The mouse works perfectly on other macs and other PCs - including on the same MBP on the OS X partition.

When holding option during restart to choose boot partition - the mouse works.

Other devices plugged into the USB ports - will work in OS X but not in Windows 8.1.

All USB ports provide same result.

Symptoms were sudden, no error message or anything alike.

Please help!
