So you are attempting to sync your iPod touch with iTunes on your Mac and it never completes, is that right? Let's see if we can get you up and running.
Just to make sure you are syncing correctly, please go through the steps in this article - Sync your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with iTunes using USB
If this continues to be a problem, please try syncing using Wi-Fi - Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi

Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Try syncing using the manual method

i can only hear the music at home. but i would like to have it on my ipod.

Yes the last sync was about a year ago.
I'm not sure, but surely since last year, now its itunes 11.4.
Yes I use itunes every day, it works correct.
I can sync my ipod-shuffle with usb-cable. softwareversion 1.1, that works perfect.
but neither my ipod touch 4G nor my iphone 3 (recieved as a present).
both with ios 6.1.6
the sync with wlan is possilble, but i can't save it on the mobiles, when i close my mac/itunes, or leave my house the synced music is lost???

i switched the manuell button, but i can't drag and drop the song to my iphone.
