Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that the screen on your iPad 2 will not rotate. You have processed most of the relevant troubleshooting steps that I could recommend. Double check to make sure that all of the troubleshooting steps for this issue have been processed. If they have, take a look at the section labeled Issue not solved.

Jul 13, 2015 7:12 AM in response to jason269by arthurfromstokeferry,That takes me down a route which ends up costing me £200 just for you to take a look at my iPad without any diagnosis or guarantee of a fix. Could you please confirm whether this screen rotation issue has been raised by other iPad 2 owners after the iOS 8.4 upgrade? That way I will know if it's a problem at your end or whether something is defective with my iPad 2.
Thanks

Jul 13, 2015 9:36 AM in response to arthurfromstokeferryby Jerkowicz,Hi, Arthur. I also have a similar issue with my iPad Air 2. This seems to be a somewhat common issue that users have experienced after upgrading to iOS 8.4. There are numerous discussion threads out there, but check out this one for a nice summary:
iOS 8.4 iPad Air 2 rotational & wake delay issue work-arounds
Looks like like something we might have to put with until an incremental patch is out.
Best of luck,
Jeff

Jul 13, 2015 10:13 AM in response to Jerkowiczby arthurfromstokeferry,Hi Jerkowicz. None of the solutions being offered by other users have made any difference, not even a temporary one. I have also removed as much stuff as I can from my iPad (just apps, I don't store photos etc. on it) there's 4Gb of free space so I don't think it's a memory issue. In the meantime it's a real pain not being able to watch video in landscape....
