Restoring iTunes Backup on Windows 8.1

I had to move my iTunes library from iMac to a windows 8.1 laptop. Followed the specified method of changing the library location and consolidating files, and the iTunes Media files got copied on to my external drive. Now, I am trying to restore the files on windows 8.1. Again followed the specified method but it is not working. Nothing is happening.

Please help.

If you only transferred your media files you'll need to add these to the iTunes library on the Windows machine (using drag-and-drop from Windows Explorer, File > Add Folder to Library..., or copy to Automatically Add to iTunes). However, you should actually duplicate the complete iTunes folder (which includes the iTunes database, artwork folders and associated files as well as your media). See How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support for more info.
