Q: how can i delete application from the launchpad?

I have a problem, last week I installed Steam, then I downloaded a game. I didn`t like this game, and I decided uninstall it.Today I came to the launch pad and the icon of this game remained, so i tried to remove it, but the cross (over the icon) didn`t appear. How can I delete the icon from the launchpad???
