Jul 10, 2015 9:28 AM in response to jimbobmarleyby KiltedTim,That's because the SIM you have inserted in the phone is locked. It has nothing to do with the phone. If you want to do that, you'll need to install a SIM that isn't locked with a PUK code to activate the phone.

Jul 10, 2015 10:02 AM in response to KiltedTimby jimbobmarley,Thank you for replying so quickly. I don't have a SIM card as it is not being used as a phone, we just want to listen to music and play games etc. So I don't have the PUK code as I would normally do if I was switching from one phone to another. Any ideas how I get round this please.

the few minutes needed to activate the iPhone. Remove the sim and
return it. You will need a sim whenever you restore the iPhone or update
the iOS version.
Be advised, if the iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, the sim must
be from that wireless provider.
