Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are having an issue syncing and ejecting your iPod classic with iTunes on your Windows computer. The first attached article below outlines the troubleshooting steps that I would suggest in this situation. I understand that the article mentions the iPod touch and not your iPod specifically, but the same steps will be relevant.
iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
You also mention removing and reinstalling the mobile driver and iTunes. This sounds like you may have removed Apple Mobile Device Support along with the iTunes program. When you went through this process, did you remove iTunes and its related components in order as outlined in the attached article below? If not, this may cause unintended effects and I would suggest completely removing iTunes and its components again, in the correct order, and installing fresh again.
Remove iTunes as well as its related components from the Control Panel
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Bonjour
- Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later). On some systems, iTunes might install two versions of Apple Application Support. This is expected. If both are present, be sure to uninstall both versions.
Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended effects.
Best regards

Jul 12, 2015 10:41 AM in response to joe_7399by lima82,Thanks for the help, Joe.
I did all of the above, and even installed a previous version of ITunes that I knew worked before. I did a factory reset of my Ipod, and was able to sync it, but then ITunes froze again.
Thinking that perhaps my Ipod was having issues, I tried to sync my old Ipod Classic 2nd Generation, and the same thing happened.
One thing I considered: I noticed this problem after recently purchasing a song on ITunes. I became suspicious of this file, because when I attempted to place this song in a playlist, it wouldn't show up. So, I decided to delete that track from ITunes and purchase the song from a different album. Unfortunately, ITunes is not recognizing my Ipod again. The Ipod does show up in "My Computer", but ITunes will not display it, even after resetting the Ipod.
Could this track be causing the problems?
Thanks!

Jul 13, 2015 6:19 AM in response to lima82by joe_7399,Hello lima82,
Thank you for the extra information. If the song in question was purchased from iTunes, I do not think this would cause your iPods to no longer be seen in the application. The next article below has more specific troubleshooting steps to work through for when iTunes does not see your device.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
From your question and reply, it sounds like you have worked through most of this already. I would still suggest starting at the top of the article and working your way completely through the steps just to ensure no stone was left unturned.
Have a great day
