Welcome! I understand since you moved to the U.S. from Panama that your cell phone number has changed. Did you change your existing Apple ID (email address) or create a new one with your new phone number? The first step is to make sure your Apple ID has all of the correct information, including editing the phone number. Then sign out of all of your services (iTunes Store, FaceTime, Messages, etc. and sign in with the correct Apple ID. I'll include some resources here for you, including a link to the Apple ID Support Team if you need them.

Update your Apple ID or password on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac.
iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Go to Settings > FaceTime.
- If you're signed out on your iPhone or iPod touch, tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime" and enter your updated Apple ID or password. On your iPad, just enter your updated Apple ID or password.
- If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out. On your iPhone or iPod touch, tap "Use your Apple ID for FaceTime" and enter your updated Apple ID or password to sign in. On your iPad, just enter your updated Apple ID or password.
Messages
After you update your Apple ID, your friends will receive new messages from your updated Apple ID. Old messages aren't removed.
iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Go to Settings > Messages, then tap Send & Receive.
If you're signed out on your iPhone or iPod touch, tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage" then enter your updated Apple ID or password. On your iPad, just enter your updated Apple ID or password.
If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID, tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out. On your iPhone or iPod touch, tap "Use your Apple ID for iMessage" and enter your updated Apple ID or password. On your iPad, just enter your updated Apple ID or password.

- Make sure that you’re connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network. If you're using an iPhone, you'll need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.
- Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that you've set up your time zone correctly.
Turn off iMessage and FaceTime and restart
- Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
- Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
- Restart your device.
- Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on.
Still not activated after a day?
It might take up to 24 hours to activate iMessage and FaceTime. If you've waited more than 24 hours, follow these steps:
- Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS.
- If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.
- Contact Apple Support.
