Q: Photostream not working properly

Has anyone had problems with PhotStream since Photos for Mac and managed to sort them out?  PhotoStream always worked perfectly for me on Mac, iPhone and iPad before OS 10.10.3 with the most recent 999 photos showing.  Since  10.10.3 I've had continual problems with some photos regularly failing to synch between devices.

I've gone through extensive troubleshooting with Apple Support under my AppleCare but they have not been able to solve the problem.  We have switched PhotoStream on and off and waited for it to repopulate.  Even done a clean install because the adviser said my original 10.10.3 download may have been incomplete or corrupted - though that didn't sound very likely to me as I assumed OS downloads would be verified in some way.  They reached the end of the road anyway with no resolution.

Currently my iPad has 997 images on PhootStream but only 648 on my iPhone.

My Mac has, for example,  all of the photos from a recent trip 10 days ago but not all of them have made their way onto PhotoStream on handheld devices.  It's quite random the images which are missing.

My wifi is OK in the house so I can't see why PhotoStream no longer works so effectively since I got Photos for Mac on my desktop.

Is this a known issue with Photos for Mac?  Are there any ways to resolve it that others have found?  PhotoStream used to be so reliable and so useful!

I don't use iCloud photo library so that shouldn't be a factor.

Thanks in advance!

MyPhiotoStream will not have the same number of images on every device

what is in MPS on iCloud is the last 30 day's photos or 1000 photos which ever is less

What is displayed on each device is the MPS from iCloud PLUS the photos that have been uploaded to MPS form that device - so typically every device has a different count

Thanks - so does this mean that PhotoStream showing only 135 out of 148 photos (from my most recent tri)p is it working correctly?  All 148 images were imported into Photo from a camera via USB on my Mac. Mother don't all, however, show up on hand-held devices PhotoStream?  I seem to remember before Photo being able to rely on full sets of latest photos showing on PhotoStream in all devices.

If PhotoStream, since 10.10.3, is going to miss out images at random it greatly reduces its usefulness!

Thanks again LarryHN for taking the time to explain.

I have no possible way to know since we can not see you - it depends on several things as I described - it might be fine or there may be a problem - you give no details so no one but you can tell

And in addition to the above limits there are others including daily upload limits

How many pictures are in MyPhotoStream one each device. Which device  (or devices) were these uploaded form? We're they all uploaded at the same time or over a period od time?
