Q: carplay art

I just picked up Pioneer's AppRadio 4 because of the CarPlay feature and I love it. My only issue is I've read that the screen displays the album art faded in the background but my screen is completely black. This is an issue with music I've ripped myself and added the art into iTunes and also with music I've purchased on iTunes. Is there a setting that I'm not seeing to display the album art?

    The artwork is actually there but is very faint behind the text. Find an album with very contrasty artwork and look at the display head on, you'll kind start to see it.

     

    admittedly I'm a little disappointed in the implementation of the artwork display on CarPlay. There's all thi beautiful screen real estate and you can hardly tell there's artwork there. Are there any customization options that I'm not aware of for this? 

     

    AT this point I'd rather use the Pioneer music playback app because at least in an actually see the album artwork.
