Kernel Panic - intermittent

I have a late 2012 27" iMac running 10.10.4.

For the last few months I have been getting intermittent shutdown, with the "Your computer was shutdown due to a problem" message.

My iMac runs from around 09:00 til maybe 22:00 on most days.

The weird thing is, these shutdowns have NEVER occurred during the day - and always occur roughly between the evening hours of say, 17:30 til 19:45.

It will happen, roughly 2 or 3 nights out of 5. Sometimes more, and sometimes, not for a week. It has only happened while I have not been doing any activity on the computer. That is, it isn't "while I'm doing 'such and such' " - I'm never doing anything - it just shuts down, out of the blue.

I thought it may have been an electricity company power surge during evening peak hour? However my wife's iMac doesn't do it, and we don't ever notice a flicker of the house lights or anything.

I've unplugged all peripherals - still does it.

I have made no software installs which coincide with the time this all started.

This is the most recent "Send to Apple" report - (I'm curious about the "oxdeadbeefdeadbeef" text - what the heck is that?)

Any thoughts?

Uninstall all of the above then restart your Mac to test.

Uninstall Eltima > How to uninstall SyncMate

It won't do any good to send reports to Apple since third party software is the issue.

I would first uninstall your Symantec software. Use their uninstalling tool: Symantec Uninstall Application. Leave the other software installed for now. Check if there is a new version of SyncMate or How to uninstall SyncMate it as well. There is no evidence that SoundFlower is a problem, so you can leave it for the time being. After uninstalling the software you should boot into Safe Mode then reboot normally. See if this fixes the problems.

Norton - uninstalled.

Syncmate - Uninstalled. I'll leave Soundflower for the moment.

Have also reset PRAM and SCC.

See how we go.

Anyone know what "Oxdeadbeefdeadbeef" means?

Oh, that's no good!

Well, I took the advice of the previous respondents, and did the following:

Uninstalled Nortons (seems like that is a common theme)

Uninstalled Syncmate - maybe you don't have that

Reset PRAM and SCC - (that wasn't mentioned, but I read it elsewhere)

I haven't yet done the "Safe Mode" startup - I'm really waiting to see how I go.

So far, after a couple of days - all good.
