When I connect my iphone 4s to my mac, it won't open itunes 12. Ive tried to find the settings to make this happen but I cant find that option anywhere anywhere, even when trying apples fix.

I found my answer at If you don't see your connected device in iTunes for Mac - Apple Support in my case, I restarted my iPhone 5s, then the iPhone icon was clickable in iTunes for Mac.
