Iam unable to get messages and calls with my sim installed in iPad Air but I am able to access mobile internet with my sim.please let me know how to activate messages and calls in my sim.

iPads have no native phone capabilities. You have to use an app such as Skype
to make/receive phone calls. Your sim has to be properly provisioned by your
wireless provider to support such apps. You cannot use a sim meant for a cellphone
in an iPad to make phone calls.
