Unable to update OSX 10.10.3 (on iMac 5K)

I am trying to update my installation from 10.10.3 to 10.10.4

Appstore is failing to download the update - it just shows the progress bar for a second or two and then the bar disappears. I have retried many times with the same effect. I am unable to downlaod any other updates from apple as well (itunes, safari etc.)

I am able to download and install 3th party software from the App store.

I guess I have some problem with apple servers or some OS issues not allowing any apple products to download/install - I was unable to download also bootcamp support software using bootcamp - it was always failing within a second or two with Network Problem message.

I did check my hosts file - no apple entities.

Now where it became really weird:

I downloaded 10.10.4 update, the installer runs normally up to here:

User uploaded file

And once I press "Continue Installation" it just skips "Installation" and goes straight to Summary:

User uploaded file

After the restart - nothing happens.

Apps such as Little Snitch, Growl, and MacKeeper, can prevent updates from installing

Disable anti virus software if installed

Check the firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options

Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled

Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.

Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.

If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

Thanks for trying to help Carolyn Samit!

I did what you advised, unfortunately nothing changed.

I am not using any of the applications above.

I have forticlient VPN installed (http://www.forticlient.com/) and using it mostly as VPN, but it also has antivirus. I switched it off.

I didn't see any restrictions in the advanced firewall settings.

Gatekeeper was set to anywhere, I did try - Appstore and Identified developers - then Appstore only - didn't help

Before following your suggestion I had ran and completed successfully repair disk permissions.

Something else that might give a clue what is happening:

If I try to update itunes for example - I see the progress bar for a second, then the button greys out to installed:User uploaded file

and after another second or so, changes back to UPDATE and in the history it says it is already installed:

User uploaded file

Something very strange is going on. 😟

I did check the system log - apparently there is something wrong with sandbox, but I have no idea what is sandbox and what is it doing...
