Q: Endless Loop to Change iCloud ID - Help?
I changed my e-mail address and changed my Apple ID and iCloud to that address. I was able to convert all just fine on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air. On my iPod Touch, I changed over my Apple ID but I am unable to get my iCloud ID changed. It's running the most current OS at 8.4. Here's the scenario:
- Settings
- iCloud (shows old ID)
- Window "Sign In to iCloud" appears asking for password to old ID. Options are OK or Cancel.
- OK = Doesn't accept old ID password
- Cancel = goes back to main iCloud menu
- Scroll to the bottom and press Sign Out. Two options Sign Out or Cancel
- Sign Out = brings up two options
- Keep on My iPod touch
- Delete from my iPod touch
- Both options bring up a "Password Required" for Apple ID for previous Apple ID to turn off Find my iPod touch. Enter it and it says "Your Apple ID or password is incorrect."
- Sign Out = brings up two options
- Scroll to the bottom and press Sign Out. Two options Sign Out or Cancel
I am in a frustrating loop. Can anyone help? Much thanks,
iPod touch, iOS 8.4

Hey there twozags,
It sounds like you are being prompted for your previous information when you are trying to sign out of your iCloud account after changing the email address. I would recommend taking a look at the following article about that very issue, named:
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID in iCloud
Change your Apple ID temporarily
Use these steps to change your Apple ID temporarily:
- Go to My Apple ID, click Manage your Apple ID, and sign in with your current Apple ID.
- Select Edit next to Apple ID and Primary Email Address.
- Change your Apple ID to the email address that iCloud is asking you to sign in with. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
- Sign out of My Apple ID.
Then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
- Tap Settings > iCloud on your iOS device.
- Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
- Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device], and enter the password for your Apple ID. Your data remains in iCloud, and it will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
- If you're signed in on more than one device with this Apple ID, repeat steps 1-3 on each device.
- Go to My Apple ID, and sign in again.
- Change your Apple ID to the email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
- Tap Settings > iCloud on your iOS device, and sign in with your new Apple ID.
If these steps don’t work, change your Apple ID temporarily again. Then sign back in to My Apple ID to make sure that your Apple ID was changed.
Whenever you change your Apple ID, remember to update the features and services that you use with Apple ID, so that each one is using your updated Apple ID.
Learn more if you don't need to sign out of your previous Apple ID and instead need to sign out of someone else's Apple ID on your device.
