Q: Photos stuck uploading to iCloud
I've been struggling with this issue for a while...
Recently, I bit the bullet and bought 200GB of iCloud storage, primarily to back up my iPhone and utilise the iCloud photo sharing.
The iPhone and iPad side is fine (they're synchronising and backing up without any issues), but the 2013 MacBook Air isn't going to plan. All I'm really wanting to do is upload the photos using the newish photos app. It gets stuck at the following point, however:
No matter how long I leave it (I've left it for at least 4-5 days by disabling sleep and leaving the app open), it doesn't progress. When I first tried it (more than a month ago), it got to about 3,000 items remaining but then stopped - the "iCloud Photo Library" un-checked itself and re-checking got me to where I am now.
My iCloud.com library does have a fair proportion of the images (perhaps missing the 3,000) - it certainly isn't missing 8,660 as the above suggests.
I've tried un-checking, restarting etc. but can't get any further than the above.
To note was that this was a migrated iPhoto database. Unfortunately I've since deleted that (I didn't appreciate that it didn't double the storage requirements until after the event) and have no backup!
Has anyone else had similar issues? I just want to get this working as it should!
Many thanks in advance.
Adrian
