Comcast gave me a new modem today and it works fine via wifi, but I'd rather have the iMac connected via Ethernet, which worked fine with the old Comcast modem. New modem is a Technicolor TC8305C. Any ideas on getting the Ethernet connection working? Thanks.

yes, to set up a modem, one would start there. But this is not what I asked. Thanks anyway.
You can try plugging ethernet in directly from the modem or From the Router LAN port.
Turn off WiFi with the ethernet plugged in restart the computer.

Thanks Leroy, but that didn't do it. I'm beginning to the think this router is also not working properly. There are small indicator lights next to the Ethernet ports and neither the green, nor ambe, lights up, making me think there is another issue.
Well the issue is the iMacs ethernet port. It's not working. Guess I'll just stick to using wifi and no longer directly connect the iMac to the AirPort Extreme.
Have you tried a different cable? Cables do fail. I've also mistakenly though a bad switch was limiting my Mac to 100baseT (100 metabit/sec), when it was the cable. Replaced the cable and I got 1000baseT (gigabit/sec).
Yes, tried that too, but it really does seem to be the ethernet port on the iMac. Not too worried about it, The Wifi connection is stroing and fairly fast, and the iMac is now over 3 years old, so upgrading may be an option anyway.
