How do I reference a cell on another sheet within the same spreadsheet

I have a spreadsheet called Monthly Budget and within it are 4 different sheets on Numbers for ICloud.

I want the first cell in a table on sheet #4 to be the result of a formula in a cell on sheet #2.

I looked through several discussions and then typed the following into the cell on sheet #4.

=BECU Account July 15::Table 1::AF71

BECU Account July 15 is the name of the sheet.

AF71 contains a formula.

I want the value calculated by the formula to be in BECU Account Aug 15::Table 1::B3 however it doesn't. Instead, this is what appears in that cell as text. (I've enclosed it in quotes below to avoid confusion.)

" =BECU Account July 15::Table 1::AF71"

I'm mystified as to what I'm doing wrong. I've tried typing an = sign and then pointing to the correct cell, but numbers takes me to A1 of BECU Account July 15 and won't let me move to AF71... The scroll bars won't work, arrow keys won't work...
