Where did the follow pitch and tempo checkbox go in Garageband 10?

I have no idea how to change the pitch on the loops I am importing into garageband 10.1.0. The checkbox on the track editor is gone. How do I do this?

(It's really hard trying to google questions when so many different versions of garageband now exist and they are all somewhat different.)

Follow Tempo and Pitch is still available, for audio tracks you are recording in GarageBand 10. For audio files you import you have two ways to change the pitch:

  1. Save the audio region as a loop to the Loop Browser. Just take care you do not save it as a one-shot loop. Then add the saved loop to your project and you can transpose it like any other loop.
  2. Or add an Aupitch filter to the track in the smart controls for the track.

True, however, those solutions existed in previous versions of GarageBand.

In the previous versions of GarageBand you could also only use "Follow Tempo & Pitch" on tracks you recorded into GarageBand. It has been ignored for audio files as well. But for audio files we had the work-around to turn an audio file into a recorded region by entering command-option-G. This hidden feature does no longer work in GarageBAnd 10. It will change the color of the regions, but not their behavior. They will ignore "Follow Tempo & Pitch" in the Editor, and the transpose slider is disabled too.
