i can't open itunes it tells me The procedure entry point CMTimeConvertScale could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll. and also another window says (windows error 127)

It seems like iTunes will not open on your PC, and you see a few errors when you try to open it.

Based on these symptoms, I recommend going through the steps in If you can't install or update iTunes for Windows.

Such errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. CoreMedia.dll is part of Apple Application Support and can normally be found in

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support or

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

HI, I did all the steps that you detailed and it still isn't working. If I uninstall itunes and reinstall, will I lose my phone back up? I just got a new phone and I was going to do the backup, when this error happened! I'm worried I'm going to lose my phone info if I uninstall and then reinstall

The removal and reinstallation steps I suggest preserve both the library and any device backups.

ok, I did what you suggested and it still isn't working. If I now go and just uninstall and reinstall, will I still have the phone backup? I'm thinking I don't have a choice at this point, other than to uninstall the program first. Because when I clicked the other links you suggested in installing.... it then said I did not have mobile device something or other. and then completed the install.. went to open, and got the same error message. I even checked if I needed and windows 7 updates, and I do not.

I just got this issue recently. I believe it started from updating the latest iCloud. I don't what to do.

I have iTunes 11.4 on Windows 7

I've repaired it (TWICE) and even tried to uninstall and reinstall it. Still the same error!

iTunes 11.4 for Windows contains version 3.0.6 of Apple Application Support. iCloud for Windows 5.0.2 will have installed version 4.1 of AAS, which may well not be compatible with version 11.4 of iTunes. I suspect you'll need to uninstall all Apple software and then reinstall your chosen build of iTunes and an older version of iCloud.

So if I downgrade iCloud or remove it from my laptop, I can use iTunes again?

I can't say for certain, but I would expect it to work. As given though, uninstall all Apple software, reboot, then reinstall the components that you want. iTunes 11.4 is well over a year old so it is unlikely to play nicely with the latest version of iCloud.
