2015 MacBook Pro, Grinding Noise

Hello all,

So my rMBP early 2015, is making a strange grinding/scrapping noise. At first i assumed something in the fans or the like but the noise is coming from the top right side (where the power button is), and research suggests the fan is more in the middle. I was working away with my laptop on my desk, and the fans came on, which they occasionally do, and then went quite and i didn't notice the issue until a few hours later so I dont think its the fan. It was suggested elsewhere that it might be the superdrive (what even is that? do i even have one in a rMBP 2015). Any information on this would be greatly appreciated, and a fix would be awesome!
