How do I set up my apc back-up ups-550g

I am setting up my new apc backup ups-550

Looks like there is no Powerchute for Mac any more, but some kind of similar software is built into os X.

How do I activate it? Or does it activate automatically when I connect the ups-550 via USB?

Once you have it set up according to their instructions AND plug it into your Mac via USB, it should automatically show in System Preferences > Energey Saver > UPS tab. You can choose options there.
