I am looking to purchase a refurbished iphone 6. If something was to go wrong with it, would i be able to take it to the genius bar for them to repair, like i would a brand new one, or am i on my own?

Apple does not sell refurbished phones so no. You may get service from whomever "refurbished" it however. The only truly factory refurbished phones are not available for retail sale and are used by Apple as service replacemnet units. Anyone else selling an iPhone as "refurbished" has serviced it themselves or had a third party do so, which voids support from Apple.
Are refurbished iphones covered by apple warranty?
