Wires on my charger were exposed. Apple don't want to replace it! Why? My safety is in danger

Wires on my charger were exposed. I went to apple and i was shocked because they won't replace it. I asked the lady what if it will cause fire or it will damage my phone. They advised me to purchased a new opne wherein my cable is just 8 months old. In Motorola we replace! why is it apple not concern on safety issue. Please help Apple

This is a user-to-user support forum, not Apple. My assumption would be that they didn't replace it because the warranty doesn't cover accidental damage -- but that is just my assumption. I'm also assuming that they might think that 5.1 volts is not a safety issue as that is less voltage than a 9 volt battery which has both contacts exposed and has never been a safety issue. You would need to contact Apple or maybe the manager at the store for an answer from Apple.
