Q: Has anyone ever had trouble with iTunes crashing when trying to sync an old iPhone with a new PC?

I recently upgraded from my old laptop to a desktop and am having trouble syncing my phone.  Every time I try to bring up iTunes with my phone plugged in, iTunes crashes immediately.  Has anyone dealt with a similar problem that could possibly give me some insight?  I've tried restarting my computer and closing all other applications, and neither of those have helped.  Running windows 7 and using the latest version of iTunes as far as I know
