Come on, Apple. I just want to reduce the number of pixels in a photo. I.e., "rescale", a common edit. I see how to "crop", but cannot find "rescale" or "adjust size" or whatever...

Come on 3D Guru - it is trivial (and Apple is not here so you are way off bast there in addition to your attitude)
Select a photos and export (file menu ==> export) and use the size field of the export window to set the maximum pixel dimension of the photos (if the size field is not shown click on the "v" on the right of JPEG to open the rest of the options
You can not change Pixel dimensions within Photos except by cropping away portions of the image - only during export same as iPhoto before Photos

Photos supports a lossless workflow. So it will always keep the imported photos at the original pixel size in the library. If you need to share a photo at a reduced size, use "File > Export" to create a smaller version. In the export panel is a disclosure fringe to reveal the custom settings for exporting at any pixel size.

After searching for a 1/2 hour in Help for "reduce size", "rescale", "adjust resolution", etc., and getting nothing, you can see my frustration. Even Preview has an "Adjust Size" function...
Yes, I am "down" on Apple lately. If they are not letting us reduce the size of stored images in Photos, the message to me is they are forcing us to buy more memory or a new computer...
