Recording on a Mac Pro with Sony Camcorder

I have a Sony HDR CX-110 and would like to do video podcast recordings at my desk on my Mac Pro. What program can I use to see the live feed of myself being recorded in real time on the computer screen? I would control the start recording, stop, pause and playback using the program as well.

Thank you

Thank you, however, it didn't completely help. I got the idea to use a HDMI cable. The camera has one and I believe the Mac does too. Will this do the trick? As well, Screenflow seems to be buggy. I completely lost a 2.5 hour business audio recording after my computer froze after downloading it. So, if you or someone else can be more precise what program to use and what cables to use and how to make this happen, rather than directing me to a 3 year old conversation, that would be great.

Thanks

Any HDMI connector on a Mac is for Video out only.

To get video in you need an adapter that support HDMI in and connects to either a USB port or Thunderbolt port. Ones on a USB ports will be slower/less resolution. Here are some Thunderbolt adapters
