Q: iPhone 6 receiving error messages upon trying to backup to iTunes
I last backed up my phone 12 days ago. It is telling me that I'm out of storage though, so I wanted to back it up again before trying to mess with it in a program like iBackupBot and also before updating my phone to 8.4. My phone only has two apps right now because it is so full, (One is Find my iPhone.) and I have zero music.
I plugged it into my Macbook Pro 13" running Yosemite 10.10.3. iTunes and Photo both popped open like they're supposed to. I saved the pictures I'd taken over the last two weeks with photo but received an error message from iTunes. "iTunes could not backup the iPhone because there is not enough free space on this computer to save the backup. Removing files and emptying the Trash will free up additional space." My computer has more than 300 gigs of space, I checked, so that's not the real issue.
I tried to troubleshoot, rebooted my phone and computer, and reset the Lockdown folder as recommended here. I then received a new message: "iTunes could not backup the iPhone because the backup session failed." I pulled the folder I'd just deleted out of my trash and the original "not enough space" message resumed.
Any suggestions on how to make everything cooperate and act like its supposed to?
