Q: I use the workout app every day for outdoor walking and I'm finding that it pauses itself for no apparent reason. Is anyone else having this issue? or does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to correct this issue? Thanks for any help

    Hi greywolfcoad,

If I understand correctly your Workout app is pausing without rhyme or reason when you are actively working out. I would restart the AppleWatch with these steps:

    Restart your Apple Watch

    Restart your Apple Watch

    1. Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
    2. Drag the slider to turn off your device completely.
    3. After you turn off your Apple Watch, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.

Press and hold the side button on Apple Watch to turn it off.

Sounds simple but it resolves most odd little issues if they appear. It may even be necessary to unpair and re-pair the watch to your phone to fix the issue:

Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone

Use these steps to unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone:

    1. Keep your Apple Watch and iPhone close together as you unpair them.
    2. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
    3. Tap My Watch > Apple Watch, then tap Unpair Apple Watch.
      Unpair Apple Watch setting
    4. Tap again to confirm. Your iPhone will create a new backup of your Apple Watch before erasing all content and settings on your Apple Watch. You can use the backup to restore a new Apple Watch. After your Apple Watch unpairs, you'll see the Start Pairing message.
    5. Use these steps to set up and pair your Apple Watch again.

Im having the same problem. I tried re-starting the watch as well as re-pairing the watch neither one had any effect. I've seen some postings about people with wrist tattoos having issues with the workout app as well as issues with the watch recognizing it is on the wrist. I do have a wrist tattoo so maybe that is the problem. either way i feel that Apple needs to address this issue. i purchased the watch to workout with it; i am unsatisfied with the overall functionality of the workout app and the heart rate sensor.
