How do you up grade Safari?

I cannot find how or where to up grade Safari. If you have please let me know how. Thanks

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8), current Safari 5.1.10

ahhh....good question

currently, Safari is not available as a stand-alone download. You have to upgrade the OS to get a newer copy. To do that, get your Apple ID and go to the App store which is built into your MacBook pro. sign in and grab a copy of Yosemite. which is free. Be advised that once you upgrade to Yosemite, you cannot downgrade to snow leopard without a lot of fussing around--however 99% of the stuff you have now will work just fine in Yosemite. But once you have upgraded to Yosemite, make sure you get the 10.10.4 update as well, if it's not already there.
