Jul 14, 2015 6:55 AM in response to marionessaby Jeff,★HelpfulThat's a common directory error. As suggested, you can boot from the Mac OS DVD and run Disk Utility to scan/repair the hard drive. If you would like a more thorough utility, capable of correcting reported directory errors that Disk Utility cannot, you might consider purchasing "DiskWarrior." Over the years in these Forums, DiskWarrior users have reported success in resolving problems with badly-corrupted directories and were able to avoid reformatting their hard drives.
