Q: Inaccuracies of the HRM function and support apps

The apple watch does not accurately track HR while working out.

I have purchased a wahoo TICKR chest strap to supplement the watch during workouts, with the chest strap the HR is accurate

The watch nor any of the embedded apps reflect HR Zones

If you use the wahoo app in order to accurately reflect zones and calorie burn the data is not stored in the apple Health or Activity Apps apps

I have participated in chats and just left a meeting at the Apple Store, there does not appear to be a current answer to this problem

Best reply seems to be to use the wahoo app while working out use the apple health/activity apps on other days and don't have a complete comprehensive record of your activity.

Has anyone solved this problem? If so, how

Thing may change when WatchOS 2 is released - it allows developers to write native apps to run on the watch (at present there are only companions to iPhone apps). That will provide developers with the ability to integrate sensor data from the watch directly into their own applications. It might allow the Wahoo apps to integrate better with Health and Activity.

On the accuracy pf the watch  there's at least one test that suggests that it becomes very accurate if it's very tight against the wrist (link below), but that might not practical or comfortable.

Consumer reports tested the heart-rate monitor and found that it is accurate. When I have compare mine to other devices like elliptical machines and stationary bikes with HRMs, it has been very close.

However, results can depending on how it is worn, tattoos and the like.
