My ipod cracked and now the touch screen doesn't work??

Hi,

about a year ago i dropped my ipod and the screen cracked and about a week ago i picked the glass out of the bottom of the screen an that made my ipod glitch and freeze every so often but that's not the problem...my ipod fell and smashed and the front camera got ruined so i tried taking the glass that was smashed and that was all fine and i took out a peice of glass and then the whole screen stopped working so the two buttons the home and the off button still work but the touch screen work anymore????? would i be able to take it to a screen repair shop and get the touch screen back and the screen fixed or would i have to take it to the apple store and how much do you think it would cost and it is a 4th generation ipod touch???

Apple MAY exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours. They might not do the exchange because Apple says:

However, certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.
