Typing lag on Yosemite

Hi all,

I very recently bought a used Macbook pro retina (15', mid2012). It works like a charm.

However, sometimes (regularly on Microsoft Word) I experience an annoying typing lag.

Is it possibly related to Apple's Energy Saving technology? Or is it more likely to be an app-specific problem?
