    Heres a fix for it:

    1. while on, press shift+ctrl+ power button

    2. release all 3 keys and press the power again (after it reboots)

    3 Press the delete key

    4 Press the off button

Let me know if it works!

    Best of luck!

Which model of PowerBook G4 do you have?

Some that have a PRAM battery on the logic board may not run

or will act strangely if they do, once that battery no longer can

hold a charge; and the battery would need to be replaced.

That could affect startup. However other issues or hardware may

be the cause of a failure to startup. The DC-In Board may be shot.

Problems with charge and power components may be a cause, &

with no second working Mac of the same vintage with extra parts

to swap (battery, charger, etc) troubleshooting can be difficult.

What have you tried? Did you attempt a power manager reset PMU?

This may help, even if the computer won't start up; but it may not.

Be sure to use the method described in this article for your PBook G4.

•Resetting PowerBook and iBook Power Management Unit (PMU) - Apple Support

Most current Apple support articles tend to forget about old hardware.

However some of what they suggest may still help, others not so much.

    • If your Mac won't turn on - Apple Support (an example of this matter)

    • OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer’s PRAM

There also may have been hardware damage to the logic board, or circuitry

to the hard disk drive, and if the battery was let to go completely dead, it

may help to attempt to reset the PRAM. And if the computer has the clock

battery (some do not) you may have to read an iFixit.com repair guide on

how to unplug the battery to see if that helps to attempt to start up the Mac.

    In any event...

    Good luck & happy computing!
