Q: PowerMac G4 LED

Hi,

I'm working about fix a PM G4 video card, and I'm wodering what the "DS18" motherboard significate?

The LED doesn't flash, just stay "red". May be it's just a construcor test...

So, some tips?

Hi,

On G4s that just indicates there's power to the logic board... should've been a Green LED to indicate good!

Additionally I think it means it's getting 5 VDC trickle voltage to start up.

A probleme with 5VDC? I'm French so I didn't understand exactly...

But, obviously there're still a problem somewhere caus the LED never turn to green...

Also is there no video signal...
Apparently the system is working well, i have the volum control "bips" and the ejection of the cd player...
SO...

Everythings OK, Yes should have been "Green" ones!!
But still no video but it's an other problem!

OK, sorry for any confusion.

Is it a PCI or AGP Video card?

Have you tried holding Shift key at power on?

Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

No problem!^^

It's an AGP One ATI Radeon 9000.
I just done the "CMD+Option+p+r" PRAM reset but still not video.
By the way, the video card sink goes hot after average minutes turned on...

I'll try the other option in few minutes!
