Bluetooth set up assistant

After a period of "sleep", the Bluetooth set up assistant tries to sync with a wireless keyboard that does not exist. I have a wired keyboard and a wireless trackpad. This activity stops the functionality of the wired keyboard. How do I correct this?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Me too. Here's what I'm trying. In Bluetooth Preferences>Advanced, I'm un-checking the option "Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant if no Keyboard is Detected." This should solve it, but I won't know until another night of sleep (for the MBP that is).
