iPad screen frozen on VoiceOver important message screen.

I have an iPad, 4th generation with 128 memory and running the latest iPad software update. I accidentally turned on VoiceOver. I was presented with an Important Message screen ("Important Message. VoiceOver changes the gestures used to control your iPad. Are you sure you want to continue? Press Home button to continue." Then two boxes, Cancel and OK) I hit the Home button ( the round depressed one on the side, right?) and nothing happened. I tried it several times. Tried clicking the Cancel button, again nothing. I can't get off this message to do anything. I finally closed the iPad cover and it turned it off but when I opened it it was on the regular swipe to open screen but with the same message on top. I can't seem to do anything. Help, please. Thanks, sao45.

I have the same exact problem but Siri won't work possibly because my WiFi is off or just not functioning because of this problem. Please help, it's very annoying because my alarms keep going off and I can't shut down the iPad...

When you are in Voiceover you tap then double tap to activate items on the screen. Go to settings> general> accessibility> Voiceover> off.

Swipes and scrolls are done with three fingers.

Now an example. Tap settings, your iPad should say settings, then you double tap settings to actuvate it. Then tap general, your iPad should say general, double tap general to activate it. Continue until you turn Voice Over off.

You're welcome. Glad to hear you got your iPad working. That tap double tap is easier to demostrate in person then it is to describe in print.

If you use Voiceover or any of the accessibility controls often I'll show you a way so you don't get locked out again.

Go to settings> general> accessiblity like before. Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap accessibility shortcuts> Voiceover. Voiceover should now have a blue checkmark. Now to turn Voiceover on or off just triple click the home button.

For anyone having this problem, hold in your Home button and tell Siri to "turn off voice over"

So unlock your iPad with the method I descrided above. Where you would normally swipe you now use three fingers. To enter your passcode use the tap then double tap method for each of the numbers.
