Deleting primary email in Gmail

Mail - Preferences - Accounts and edit the account in question. Otherwise you will need to navigate to the Gmail site and edit it there and would need help from Google.

Most items are accessible from their web site, without login to gmail. To

change your account settings, you'd have to log into your Gmail account

Glad to hear you were able to enter your accounts login and make suitable changes

which affected the issue in a positive way; I've been a gmail user for quite some time

and as of yet, have not used it as you suggest. So never had to find a such a cure. 🙂
