Typing in Korea no longer groups letters together to form words.

So I was typing Korean into Anki (a flashcard app) on my Macbook Air, OS X El Capitan, and I must have hit something wrong. Now, whenever I type in Anki, Word, or text boxes on forums, my Korean characters don't join together. In Notes, Pages, Chrome's address bar, etc. it works as it should, grouping the letter combinations to form characters/words.

I have already switched between the different Korean input methods but that didn't resolve it. Right now, my settings are the Korean 2 - (standard Korean keyboard layout) Hangul input with Syllable and Jaso. I apologize, I'm at work and can't see the exact wording of the settings, but I do remember my choices.

Any idea what may be causing this to work in certain applications? I am thinking it is the encoding, but I honestly have no idea.

I apologize then. I figured it must have been some setting I accidentally switched that would be the same regardless of the OS. Considering there could be more to it than that, I will find a more appropriate forum. Although, in my searching I did find one or two people that experienced this in Snow Leopard but there was no resolution there either.
