Q: Payment Not authorised

i tried using ApplePay in two separate stores and the contact less terminal shown "Not Authorised" on both occasions.

I had to resort to using my debit card as normal.

Funds were available and there is no reason I can see why the payment would be declined.

I have set up the card on my Apple Watch correctly via the app on my phone and confirmed it with the confirmation code sent via SMS from NatWest.

I am using an iPhone 5s with my Apple Watch., both with latest software.

ANy ideas?

The error you see at least let you know that the terminal appears to be "seeing" the device. Have you tried using the card somewhere and it worked? I suggest you contact the financial institution to see what the problem may be. Only they could tell you why it might have been refused.

Call up your bank and tell them you want to use Apple Pay, good luck!

I Have not been able to successfully use Apple away yet. My bank told me they can see no reason why the payments would not be authorised.

You may need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the device checked. Otherwise, have you tried to use the iPhone instead of the Apple Watch?
