So I understand your question, you recently upgraded iTunes and you are not seeing your content that you added from Apple Music as well as add any new content. I can understand that it may be a little frightening as that probably to some work on your end to get things how you like. Let's see if we can get your music back and rocking into Apple Music.
From what you describe, it sounds like the iCloud Music Library is not enabled. If you navigate to iTunes Preferences and look in the General, you should see an option for iCloud Music Library and ensure that it is checked. For a more detailed step, take a look at the article below. I have also quoted the section if you want to skip right to the answer.
Check your Apple Music library settings
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204926
On your Mac or PC:
- Make sure that you're signed in to iTunes with the Apple ID and password that you use for your Apple Music membership.
- Mac: From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences and turn on iCloud Music Library.
Windows: Press Control + B on your keyboard to open the iTunes menu bar. Choose iTunes > Preferences, and turn on iCloud Music Library. - If you already have music on your device, you'll be asked if you want to Merge or Replace the music. Choose Merge to add the songs currently on your device to your library.* If you select Replace, the music on your device is replaced with your Apple Music library.
*When you choose Merge, songs on your device that are in the Apple Music catalog become instantly available to access on your other devices. On iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, songs that we can’t match are shown on your other devices. But you won’t be able to play them on your other devices until you upload them from your Mac or PC with iTunes.
Let me know if this works for you and take it easy.
